Christopher Lackert is an IP attorney focused on providing sound, practical advice across various aspects of intellectual property, protection and commercialization, as well as issues relating to new technologies. Mr. Lackert has extensive experience Intellectual Property Law, both in the United States and internationally and actively provides clients with advice and services in the areas of trademark registration, renewals, portfolio management, trademark licensing, trademark litigation, trademark enforcement, and anti-counterfeiting. Mr. Lackert is also actively advising on copyright law and has worked on numerous cases regarding copyright registration, copyright licensing, and copyright enforcement.
Mr. Lackert has successfully and efficiently brought cases against third parties that abuse our clients’ internet presence including product counterfeiting schemes, take-downs, domain registration, and UDRP enforcement cases before WIPO and other administrative agencies. Mr. Lackert has extensive in-house experience from in-depth work at multi-national companies regarding copyright and domain registration and enforcement matters that benefit clients. Mr. Lackert also has extensive direct Pinkerton agent anti-counterfeiting experience conducting investigations and counterfeit seizure raids.
His recent experience includes:
- Acting on behalf of national corporation in UDRP enforcement matters resulting in the transfer of several domain names utilizing a client’s trademark.
- Acting on behalf of an international corporation in the registration of several color trademarks.
- Acting on behalf of our clients to successfully respond to USPTO rejections that have resulted in trademark registrations for various trademark applications.
- Acting on behalf of our clients on trademark litigation matters including extensive litigation research, litigation pleading drafting, cease and desist letters, and internet monitoring.
Mr. Lackert draws from his experience on IP matters for numerous other organizations, including the International Intellectual Property Institute regarding international copyright issues and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office regarding review of trademark applications.
Mr. Lackert has been an active member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), the American Bar Association (ABA), and numerous other IP related professional organizations throughout his time working in Intellectual Property.
Mr. Lackert is currently admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia, Iowa, and Nebraska. He received his B.S. from Cornell University, M.P.A. from Cornell University, J.D. from Creighton University, and L.L.M. in Intellectual Property Law from The John Marshall Law School and speaks fluent French in addition to basic German and Italian.
